The Highlands: Woodridge

By
Real Estate Agent with BAIRD & WARNER, NAPERVILLE

The Highlands is a small sub-division that abutts 75th street on the south and Jefferson Junior High on the north.

It consists of homes that were built in late 1960's. Most of the homes are raised ranches with attached garages. There are a few split levels and a few ranch homes.

The location is great for shopping as the Jewel is just blocks away. And, the entrance ramp to I-355 is several blocks further east.

Homes prices in this sub-division have been under $300,000. So, that's also great for first time buyers. Some of these properties have been updated...some have not.

Hi Eileen, what is a raised ranch? Does that mean it has a walk out lower level?

Ah,

good old terminology. OK...a raised ranch has 6 to 8 stairs outside leading up to the front door. Usually some of the bedrooms are above the garage. When you get to the foyer landing you must either go up another 6 stairs...or go down to the lower level.

The back of this style has windows at ground level. No walk out there. You can of course walk out thru the garage.

I think that in the east they call this a 'split-foyer' home.
