Have you ever wondered

On the news this morning, they are still talking about the mortgage crunch, foreclosures are up... bla bla, we have all heard it before. I agree some people got into mortgages that they could not afford, but some didn't. I think some of the blame should be on prices. We are seeing record highs at the gas pump. Utilities for your home gas and electric are higher.  A gallon a milk is almost 4.00 a gallon and food in general has went up across the board. Property taxes have went up for some homes it increased 50%. Lets face it there is a lot of people out there who are struggling.  People who 2 years ago were fine when they bought that expensive house and now are wondering how to make that payment, do I put food on the table, do I pay the utility bill or do I keep a roof over my head. It is a big decision.

You are absolutely correct about what you are saying, but here is a point I always tried to make to Buyers I worked with," You should not spend more than 25% of your gross monthly income on your mortgage". Most Buyers I worked with never followed this rule, and I believe many other buyers out their also obtained mortgages in excess of 25% of their gross income. So whats the point in the end, you so what you reap!

Shannon - I agree a lot of people are struggling, prices are up and it is hurting all of us. The price of gas alone is causing a lot of money problems, I spent a $100 on gas the other day taking a customer around the area for 2 days and now he is not going to buy. It is tough on us with these prices.

Gosh, I hate to sound like my parents, but...

We overextend ourselves. we buy crap we don't need, and we do the same in excess for our kids. do we really need all this garabage?   we cannot control the price of oil or milk, but the rest we can.

It's interesting to me how some homeowners are not taking responsibility for their bad decision.  Now it's affecting our economy and we're all suffering.

Very true. In my area that is a decision that many people face and most are just walking away from the home.
