Your own private island is indeed what Kellogg Island off Dunedin Florida seems to be when you land there. This beautiful island just across the channel from the old Kellogg Estate was our destination yesterday.
We anchored the boat just off shore and I waded in with Ronnie. He brought his cast net and caught plenty of bait in no time at all. He went back on the boat and fished off the back of the boat while I walked around the entire island - it was low tide, so this was possible. During high tide you would have to go through the brush to circle the island and since there are probably snakes on the island, I am not going anywhere but the sandy beach!
While Ronnie fished I returned from my walk and then decided to lie in the sun and listen to an audio book by Dan Brown: Inferno. The book is so intense that I forgot the time and managed to get a little bit of a sun burn (nothing serious).
We also spent some time on the shores of the island collecting driftwood which we brought home to use for decoration around the house. I love combining driftwood with the seashells we collect on the beaches and the air plants that grow naturally in the live oak trees and fall to the ground during storms.
Living here in our tropical Paradise is indeed heaven on earth! If you want more information about the Dunedin Florida area or would like me to assist you by setting up a free home search for that home in Paradise, give me a call today!
