Today across the United States there are both private and public remembrances of September 11, 2001. It is a day that most of us have seared into our memories as to where we were and how we felt.
Prince William County VA lost members of the local communities both in the Pentagon and in NYC. Many do not know that at the Prince William County Government Center there are two memorials dedicated to those who lost their lives.
This year the memorial includes steel from the World Trade Center which have been erected in front of the county complex on Prince William Parkway. In addition to the new memorial there is also a 2nd memorial tucked in the trees just a few steps away.
The shape of the orignial memorial represents the Pentagon and the two fountains of water represent the World Trade Center Towers. The memorial includes the name of the 21 county residents that lost their lives in the tragedy of September 11, 2001.
