Don't Let it Get to You: Working From Home With a Little Help From Your Friends
1. Distressed sales can be intense for someone who normally loves the sound of surf, or a good joke. Holding them together, following them, nurturing them, and bearing the results of another multiple offer situation, is not for the squeamish. The key is "not letting it get to you," sometimes easier said than done. Warning: If you hear yourself think that real estate is a good alternative to standing in traffic, it's time to readjust your thinking.
2. Isn't working from home a dream for many people? I love the concept. Normally a phone call to a good friend is enough to counteract the isolation of too much time alone; a temporary solution for the need to work through some of the challenges. Even positive thinkers need frequent doses of something to look forward to: a closing, a straight sale, a garage sale! I decided one day that working from home was the best place to begin researching a new career.
Enter my dear CT friend & ActiveRain member, Christi Farrington. She suggested, nagged me to join AR, saying, " it will inspire you, encourage you, and bring new business." So I hesitantly joined, and was almost immediately adopted by the adorable Colorado Springs Ambassador Mimi Foster. I was amazed at how much she wanted to help, and how healing that could be. I found out that there are agents all over the country willing to share, listen, help, support, and remind each other of ways to enjoy real estate. Just knowing that there are others who could also use an occasional dose of camaraderie has made all the difference. Working from home once again feels like a luxury.
