After years, I have finally completed a small painting. Acrylic on masonite board. 8 x 10.
A friend of mine and artist, Christopher Schulte, spearheads the Will Flores Fund (http://willfloresfund.org/). A group of artists are donating works for Stillness in Motion, an annual exhibit where proceeds benefit local community organizations. The opening reception is Sunday, Sept 22, 2-5 pm. The deadline to have works in is this Saturday.
I have promised Christopher for a year I was going to begin painting again. I haven't really turned out anything for probably 15 years. My degree in Fine Art wasn't doing me much good...
I committed to at least one painting for the exhibit. This week finally arrived, and I decided I better get busy. I don't know why I procrastinated for so long. I think it's fear that I wouldn't be any good, or that it would take too much time away from my Realtor responsibilities.
Since I've finally started, I do believe I will keep going. It was an enjoyable process...
