Motivational Power Quote

The Number One Rule in Challenging Times

“The first rule is to keep an untroubled spirit. The second is to

look things in the face and know them for what they are.”

Marcus Aurelius 121 AD – 180 AD, Roman Emperor

As I see it . . . . . . .

The number one rule in challenging times . . . .

What other people see in you in challenging times is your emotions . . . . and they will judge you by what they see.

When you’re calm on the outside . . . . you will naturally calm your internal emotions down and you will remain calm on the inside. By maintaining a calm interior you will be in control of your emotions . . . . and be in a better position to successful work your way through a challenging conditions.

With a calm interior the people around you will follow your lead and will remain calm . . . . and stay on point to successfully resolve the condition.

When your calm . . . . you will find solutions . . . .

When you lose control of your emotions . . . . the conditions deteriorate and take control of you . . . . and you lose control of the condition.

The number one rule in challenging times . . . . is maintain a calm interior . . . . and your calm interior will show in your exterior for the world to see. By remaining calm you will put yourself in a position to find the right solutions.

Unglued is out of control and not professional. Guard your actions, control your emotions, capture your thoughts. All a choice.

That's a very important message, Lou. I have a friend in the business who comes unglued with every little thing that happens. And we all hear about it.

When you consider when the quote was made, it demonstrates that in many ways the human condition has remained unchanged since the dawn of creation -- we all struggle with very similar issues (apart from whatever technological context we find ourselves)

Lou, great reminder.  I've got a mentor who teaches "when emotion goes up, intelligence goes down".  And along with that, so does results.
