Today is Yom Kippur, the day of atonement on the Jewish calender. It is a serious day filled with reflection, prayer and fasting. There is no work for me today and there will be no blogging, so I wrote this yesterday. In my faith, it is the most religious day of the year and the culmination of a period where we ask those we may have offended for forgiveness and where according to tradition you are either inscribed into the book of life for another year or not. So if I have in any way hurt, offended or ignored you, please forgive me. As for the later, we never know. Enjoy your day.
I guess we don't need to forgive you for not responding today as we know what the deal is!
I absolutely love the fact that the jewish faith has a day set aside specifically for the purpose of self-reflection and atonement. Have a beautiful, peaceful day Sheila.
I pray that this is a really positive day for you were you can get forgiveness for any and all offenses. I have nothing to forgive as you have never harmed me in any way.
Hope you are having a pleasant holiday, Sheila. And I'm glad you thought to post in advance. Would've missed seeing you.
Nothing wrong with self-reflection and forgiveness Sheila.
You will not see this today, so I hope yesterday went well! :)
Good evening friends and thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments and offering your support. Yom Kippur started last night at sundown, and ended this evening at sundown. Jewish holidays are like that. All things consideredmy fast was OK, and now that I have eaten a little I am here to acknowledge you.
Hello Rob. You are kind and I am glad I know you.
Hi Linda. Judiasm is an nteresting faith for sure. This holiday is hard, but once through it I am glad I made it and embrace my faith. Thank you.
Hello Kathy. Enjoy isn't really the right expression, but I made it and I am satisfied. Thank you.
Hi Chris Ann. I'm glad you would notice if I were gone. Thanks so much.
Hello Tom. I'm back and I am good. I feel whole and satisfied. Thank you.
Sheila
Hi Silvia. Not to regret, when you know better you know and do better. Thank you. Sheila
With that smile I just don't see you offending anyone. As far as the renewal I don't think you'll have any worries there.
