Free Rabies Clinic for Gaithersburg Cats and Dogs, Sunday, Sept. 15th

Roy, this is great information for consumers so that they can go and get the FREE stuff for their pets.

When communities have a strong animal control and shelter service in place, it is of considerable benefit.  Recently, I had my two kittens spayed/neutered.  Our local animal control actually has a new modern facility that does it at reasonable fees.  It was to cost $45.00 for the female, and $30.00 for the male.  However, when I picked them up, they gave a 20% discount because I was a senior citizen.  And, all of their shots were included free.  $60.00 for all that was quite the savings.

Free, wow that doesn't always happen, so I hope the community comes out to take advantage of the offering.

Roy, not free in Lee County Florida. First you pay the Vet for the shot. He gives you a certificate and then you pay the County for the license. Enjoy your day!

People with pets who need to have rabbies shots should take advantage of this program.

If you love your pet, do the right thing. I can tell you, there's nothing worse for a homeowner than to hear a knock on the door and some stranger ask, is your pet up to date on their rabbie shots? This happened to me and my pet's rabbie shots expired by just a few weeks. I was too late. My pet was taken away from me and I cried for a long time. He did not have rabbies, but there was only one way to find out for sure and I learned to live with regret. Losing a pet this way breaks your heart.

This is a wonderful community service that Gaithersburg is providing the residents. Good for them!

The pets need so much help during this tough economic issue.  I hope they make the dog flu shot available as well.  It is important to support these programs whenever you can.   Thanks Roy for posting this.

RIt is great the city is offering the clinic. So many pets are often not treated due to the high cost of getting the shots.

Does the city require a license for cats too, Roy?  I can't imagine my cat wearing a license around his neck ... licensing isn't required for cats here in Irvine.

I think that if the city is sponsoring something like this, it a good thing. Especially for the animals..
