Everybody I talk to (and I talk to a lot of people every day, in seminars, by phone and by email) says to me … “I want to be a Superstar, what’s it going to take?” Thirty percent of the people get mad at me when I give the answer, thirty percent are thrilled with the answer because they can see themselves doing it, and forty percent don’t even know if I’ve given them an answer. So here’s what I tell people …

 

Yes … any person can become a Superstar, however, there are certain definitions and certain things that have to be done to make that happen. For example, a commitment to sales education and growth over the next 3 to 5 years. If you’re not willing to learn what a salesperson does … you’ll never achieve the levels of productivity that you want.

 

Next, you must accept the fact that high levels of productivity also bring high levels of stress and criticism as you achieve production outside of what the normal person does. There is a lot of stress that goes with high productivity and a lot of criticism is given to those people that achieve these high levels of success. Accept stress and criticism to become a top producer.

 

Third, developing specific goals, objectives and plans and then developing the discipline required to attain them. This means, of course, that you have to be committed physically, mentally and emotionally to the goal and the plan and be willing to manage your time in such a manner as to make it happen.

 

You have to learn to live with success and live with making large amounts of money. Most people will earn a lot of money … then realize how much they’ve made … and revert right back to their old behaviors of living on a lot less and being comfortable with that. You’ve all seen people lose a lot of weight and 8 months later they’ve put it back on, plus more. People are comfortable in the style that they are used to.

 

So, if you want to be a Superstar, this is just the beginning of what it takes to make that happen.
