   email The email subject line read:  "Thank you for your time". Hmmm....well there had been considerable time put in....multiple offers and counters and now we were on our way to collecting documents and submitting the short sale package to the bank.

  Open the email...."We talked with the bank and we have decided to work with them and keep the house."  Good thought...not a reality....

 - Did the Bank ask you why you had missed payments ?  No

 - Does the Bank know of your pending divorce ?  No

 - Did the Bank ask if your income had changed since one of you retired ? No

 - Did you tell the Bank the court ordered the house to be sold or refinanced ?  No

 

      We really DO understand that you want to believe the bank....that you have trust in an institution that has been your lender for years...HOWEVER....the bank does not have all the facts...and when they do...you will be farther behind in not making payments. You accepted an offer on your home....the court has ordered it sold...the bank does not make decisions for the court.   You have beengavel advised by your lawyer to continue with the short sale.  We appreciate your hardship situation...please obey the court.  We don't give legal advice and the bank should not either...we are echoing the order of the court.

       We believe in every aspect of life...personally and professionally to follow the advice of the "highest and best source"...in this case, your lawyer and the court are those sources.

      For anyone who has been approached by a lender....or solicited by someone who claims that for a fee they can allow you to do other than the court has directed...if it sounds TOO good to be true....listen to your lawyer...take the direction that the court has required.

        To begin your happily ever after, you need to start with this direction...a path no one wants to take but the one that has to be followed.

Sounds like they are hanging on every shred of hope to find the easier way out of a bad situation.  Probably how they got in it in the first place. Taking the easy way instead of the right one.  Good luck to them and you.

Sally/David: Self sabotage and they are not even aware yet.  I hope they see the light before it is too late on this one.

When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. How many of us have received erroneous info from the bank during a short sale? A large percentage.
