Innovative business in billy goat country.

High Uinta Pack goats

Happily, parts of this country are for recreational use only. High rugged beauty tempting the outdoor adventurer throughout the year. The High Uintas fall into this category, shared by Utah and Wyoming.

From Evanston WY, Clay Zimmerman and his goats met me at the Utah State Fair ~ a friendly country bunch indeed. Clay's goats are huge, fitting small horse size but with sure feet for the offered terrain. You see, Clay and friends make up the innovative (nowhere else) business of High Uinta Pack Goats.

When you get the urge to backpack the Uintas, take a couple of goats to ease your burden. They are more than human friendly. Sez Clay: "You have no privacy when trekking with my goats". The animals are easy maintenance ~ they graze when you eat, and follow, ever curious, when you are ready to move.

In my opinion, they would probably help you erect your tent and be inside first. Definitely animals with character.

Make Pack Goats part of your next expedition. Call Clay 877 PACKGOAT.

Pack goats = now there is something I never would have thought about prior to reading your blog. What an interesting and useful business. I once lived near a dam and was always loved to see the goats who lived on the steep banks at the top of the dam to keep the grasses trimmed. I enjoyed reading about this, Larry!

Julie - I like innovation, and cheer it on wherever I see it. The world doesn't owe me a living. In so many ways we can carve out our own destiny. At newworking meetings, I wear a button proclaiming "possibility thinker". It has ignited many a "what if" session extending beyond the meeting close. your description of grazing goats sounds delightful.

Suggested Larry!

This is something I never knew before. The way you present uniqueness to your market area is commendable. I appreciate it and I hope it's featured for more to see what a knowlegable and creative man you are.

Larry, My wife and I actually thought about getting pack goats when we were living in the mountains. I always thought it would be a kick to go packing with a few of these bad boys.
