On Sunday, September 29, 2013 Shelburne Orchards will be hosting the 12th Annual Cider House Run and Pie Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their orchards located at 216 Orchard Road in Shelburne, Vermont.
The Cider House Run/Walk will begin at 11 a.m. Participants can choose between a 2 or 4 mile run or 2 mile walk through the orchards.

Hokum Brothers Band will be providing live entertainment.
The cost is $25 for those ages 12 and up and $8 for children under age 12 registering before September 25th by calling Shelburne Health and Fitness at (802) 985-4410. Race day registrations will cost $10 more and racers need to be checked in by 10:30. Children in backpacks and strollers are admitted free. The entrance fee includes a large bag for you to pick your own apples and all the apples you can fit in that bag are free.
The Pie Fest consists of three local judges who will taste test thirty double crusted apple pies. Registration for the pie contest is now full, however you can enjoy tasting those and other pies after the tasting contest is completed.
For those who would like to pick their own apples, McIntosh, Gala and Honey Crisp along with several other varieties on Shelburne Orchards 80 acres of land will be available for picking and purchase. Most apple varieties are $1 per pound with a few varieties at $2 per pound.
The Cider House Farm Market has delicious apple cider and apple cider donuts, apple pies, apple and pear brandy, new t-shirt designs and other goodies available.
Shelburne Orchards is open for the season now, seven days a week through October 31st – Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information visit ShelburneOrchards.com
