Spinnaker Hill is located in South Carlsbad, off Batiquitos Drive, near the Batiquitos Lagoon and less than 2 miles from the ocean, and about 25 miles from downtown San Diego.

Spinnaker Hill homes were built in the late 1970s with a range of styles, some more contemporary than others. Lush vegetation is plentiful and many streets are lined with trees and other mature plantings and flowers, and are beautifully tended year-round. What’s Going on Nearby the Spinnaker Hill Neighborhood?
Everything Spinnaker Hill residents need in terms of recreation, services, shopping and dining will be found close by. Residents can easily enjoy dining and shopping in La Costa several miles to the east along El Camino Real, and along the ocean to the west at the recently-built Carlsbad Hilton Oceanfront Resort (Chandler’s has a great bar and offer indoor and outdoor dining with terrific ocean views) – the Hilton offers a stunning spa as well. You’ll find high end shopping at The Forum to the south off El Camino, to the north at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets Mall, with two strip malls at the corner of El Camino and Alga about 2 miles to the east.
Of course there is golf at the Aviara Golf Club in Aviara (about 2 miles) or just a little further at the La Costa Resort and Spa. The South Carlsbad beaches are just minutes away, and the Batiquitos Lagoon and wildlife preserve to the south is a popular area for hiking, running and bird watching with miles of trails (no boating, fishing or swimming). Nearby tourist attractions include Legoland, the Museum of Making Music (video), The Flower Fields (open from mid-March until early May) and the Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch Park in Rancho Carrillo.
Head east to La Costa and El Camino Real to find the Carlsbad City Library and the popular city-owned Cannon Art Gallery (video from Skate Art Exhibit).
What Schools will Spinnaker Hill Children Attend?
Spinnaker Hill children will attend 1 of the 2 Carlsbad Unified Schools for younger children - Aviara Oaks Elementary and Aviara Oaks Middle Schools. These schools are in the Aviara community. Older students will go to either Carlsbad High School or the newly built (2013) Sage Creek High School (school choice).
