Celebrating the combination for art, wine, music and food, the Capitola Art & Wine Festival fills Capitola Village with thousands people indulging in some of life’s simple pleasures. This year on September 14 & 15, over 150 artist and 22 Santa Cruz Mountain wineries will display and share their gifts with locals and visitors alike. There is even a Children’s Art Area with ongoing craft projects is conveniently located in the center of the Festival on Lawn Way.
Among the superb wineries to look forward to are the classic Bargetto Winery, Hallcrest Vineyards & the Organic Wine Works, and Naumann Vineyards. Wine tasting requires the purchase of 2013 Festival Glass and Tasting Tokens.
Taking the Bandstand Stage on Sunday are Dancenter, Santa Cruz Pipes and Drums, and Elaine’s Dance Studio. Get up and dance to The Mermen playing psychedelic surf rock instrumentals and The Fundamentals with red hot rockin’ soul. What better way to spend an afternoon then with family and friends enjoying great art, wine, food, and music?
To avoid traffic and hectic parking, I suggest riding the 41st shuttle from the Capitola Mall. Park next to the Bank of America and the shuttle drops you off in from of the festival. Or ride your bike and get free bike valet parking at the David Lyng parking lot or Monterey Avenue Festival entrance.
