Seriously! I am pretty techy but I cannot type on my phone, even though I swear it has the world’s largest cell phone screen.
Here’s the problem. In the real estate business I have to type a lot of city or street names and my ‘smart’ phone thinks it knows best and auto-corrects these non-recognized words.
So, what is a gal dog to do? Obviously, I must turn the auto-correct off. Yep, that’s what I did.
Whew, yea, I can finally type words like Fairhaven, Squalicum and Nooksack… but wait, what’s this? Now it does NOT correct ANYTHING that is a legitimate type-o from my ever-so-clumsy thumbs paws and who wants to go to that symbol screen to add every apostrophe? I honestly don’t think I’ve typed a single sentence correctly since I turned off my auto-correct.
I simply am not a good ‘texter’. I will never win any of those speed texting contests as it takes me twice as long to text as I’m looking for my ‘smarter than I’ phone’s possible correct versions of the word I attempted but failed to type.
Now what? I’ve tried so many settings of keeping auto-correct on or training my phone but adding those strange street and neighborhood names to my ‘dictionary’, forget it, it’s never-ending.
Am I the only one with this problem?
An
yway, I want you all to know that I have found a pretty good solution to my problem, there’s a really cool option on most ‘smart’ phones that not everyone knows about. You can push that cute little microphone button and record, yes, record your message. Can I get a thumbs up?
So now, I'm almost hands paws free! Although it isn’t perfect and it still may not know the word ‘Fairhaven’ (it actually did know that word) but it sure is a lot faster to speak and edit than type and edit!
