Growing a business is no joke! Bill Bythewood and I started 2ShortSaleGuys in 2010. When we partnered together we had a combined, 10 plus years in the business. You would think we knew what we were doing, not so much!! Growing a team or Group is much more intense than “Selling Real Estate”, this is what we have learned and still learning in Growing our business.
The first thing we have learned in growing our business is that you have to plan, implement, investigate and reimplement! Planning is key to any successful business and you have to have a vision of where you want to take your business. For 2ShortSaleGuys, we had a successful career at foreclosures and the REO business as well as buyer’s representation. We felt the need to help others before they get to the foreclosure status and Short Sales were becoming more prevalent. We had NEVER done a short sale, so I started researching and subsequently took the Short Sale Foreclosure Resource (SFR) offered by NAR. Bill took the Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) course and we partnered with a local attorney’s office that was actively working short sales to learn! So we know that we wanted to do Short Sales because this was our “PLAN’, then we began learning and doing short sales, the “IMPLEMENT”. As we have now completed over 250 Short Sales and we will close over 100 transactions in 2013, we have learned by success and failure.
Bill and I sit back about every 4 to 5 months and discuss what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong, what is working and what isn’t. This is a time for us to “INVESTIGATE” our business and figure out what to do better. WE WILL NOT REINVENT THE WHEEL. We are members of several masterminds, we are constantly discussing what is working for others and what isn’t. This is a time for us to change our business and “REIMPLEMENT”.
We have to constantly change, the real estate market goes up and down, there are changes daily to this business, we have constantly been “Top Producers” in our market center when times were GREAT and when times were BAD! We have done this for several reasons, we have taken the insight of others, seen when that shift is about to launch and we have sprung into action with a PLAN! More recently was the launch of our sister team, GaRealtyGroup. We noticed that Short Sales were getting harder to get approved, we have Buyer’s Agents that would call and say, “I am Terri with 2ShortSaleGuys” and the client would automatically shut down because they wanted no part of a Short Sale. This was limiting our Buyer’s Agents so we created GaRealtyGroup for our Buyer’s Agents as well as marketing to “traditional resales”. This has increased our business by approximately 30% including traditional resales.
We at GaRealtyGroup | 2ShortSaleGuys love to share. We feel like the more we share the more we grow as a business. Many success agents and teams have contributed to our success. We thank them at every opportunity and part of our thanks is sharing what has been successful for us.
