Fall in New England is a wonderful time of year to spend time outdoors enjoying the crisp Fall air and the beautiful Fall foliage. One favorite New England Fall traditions is to visit a fair or two. The most famous New England fair is the Eastern States Exposition aka The Big E. This year the Bi E runs from September 13 - 29 so if you live in the area definitely block out a day in your calender to take the drive to West Springfield and enjoy all the food, vendors, and entertainment The Big E has to offer.
The Big E may be most famous for the crazy food combinations from chocolate covered bacon to cheeseburgers sandwiched between two glazed doughnuts you are sure to find something to shock your taste buds. If healthy living is more your style the also serve up salads, grilled chicken, and plenty of other healthy options.
Be sure to walk off all those calories you consume by visiting one of the 100's of vendors located in the Better Living Center, Craft Exhibitors, Young Building, and many of the outdoor vendors. Stroll down the Avenue of the States where you can stop into Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont Houses show you what their state is famous for.
Of Course their is also great entertainment at one of the two stages, a Mardi Gras Parade, and Ciricus. Some performers this year include Hunter Hayes, Randy Houser, and The Beach Boys.
The Big E is just over an hour away from us at Pond Spring Village in Beacon Falls, CT. If you are looking for an active 55 and over adult community to relocate to why not stop by on your way to or from the Big E.
