Cincinnati Hosts Oktoberfest Zinzinnati September 20-22 2013
Cincinnati's Oktoberfest, the party so big two days just weren't enough anymore! That's right, they're partying Friday, Saturday and Sunday this year! And you know who is leading the annual chicken dance this year?? Oh myyyyy, it's Mr. Sulu, George Takei front and center leading the world's biggest chicken dance!!
Centered on Cincinnati's Fountain Square, the location is perfect for the 100's of thousands of people that come to party every year! Now in it's 38th year, this is the 2nd largest Oktoberfest in the WORLD! You'll have to go to Munich if you want bigger!
Featuring Beer, Brats, Beer, Metts, Beer, Creampuffs, Beer, Black Forest Cake, Beer, Potato Pancakes, Beer, Sauerkraut and Beer!
Okay, so really there's a LOT more to Oktoberfest than just the BEER! (although there is typically more than 1,300 BARRELS of beer consumed at this Oktoberfest!). There's actually quite a bit of entertainment! Bands, dancers, weiner dog races (Friday at noon!!). Enjoy the video of the Running of the Weiners:
With seven stages of live entertainment (German music and dancing), and plenty of food vendors, you won't lack for plenty to do or eat!
Oktoberbest Zinzinnati starts Friday with the aforementioned Running of the Weiners but the real party starts at 5 p.m. (talk about a BIG Happy Hour) and goes until midnight! Then you can be back for more Saturday (11 a.m. to midnight) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 10 p.m)! Admission is free, parking is about $10, and how much you spend on beer and food is up to you!
Also on Saturday, the Samuel Adams Beer Hoisting Championships at 5 p.m., immediately following the Chicken Dance at 4!
