Question:  How do kids learn to walk, write and talk?

Answer:  Kids learn to walk, write and talk through discovery. They learn to walk at their own pace. It takes them many hours of practice from the time they pull themselves upright to the time they can finally walk by themselves.  And by actively venturing their own strategies like mimicking others and listening attentively, determined kids will grow faster in experience and sophistication.

The same thing applies to real estate investing and like a kid I had to learn how to go about it with so much effort and not just by learning the pace. I learned through several hours of practice, determination, and encouragement from my mentor, family and friends in the business. I also have to learn to face my fears. Fear in investing is not something that we should entertain.  All of us must learn how not to "fear the fear."

So, I want to encourage you to take an inventory in the fear department. List it down and go through it one by one. If you're at one of these crossroads in your life, let me encourage you to go forward and maximize your real estate investing success.

Learn from your mentor and reach out to other real estate investors. There are also tools available online where you can benefit as a newbie. Take advantage of just about anything that you can use and apply it to your everyday transactions.

Meetup groups. Several meetup groups these days are formed and you can choose which type of event or which group do you want to belong. If you want to learn and grow from this group, join and be active. You will soon learn that you will not only benefit from the first hand information that you gathered from the host and it’s members, you will also meet like minded investors that you can possibly work with a deal.

Another way to confront your fear is by understanding the real estate market. Be passionate of what you are doing. Read, research every possible angle, be an expert in paperwork not just vaguely familiar leaving things to chance and assumption. Learn how it works, what it says, what protections you have with Sellers and Buyers, how to work with attorneys, what do attorneys have to deal with to help close your deal, how to set realistic expectations of all parties involved and stay in control of the deal and more.  All of these are very important and should not be left to chance or assumption! Learn & Grow. Take a dive and take charge of every decision that you’re making.

After hearing from several people about the challenges in your business, do sit down and ask yourself these questions: What's holding you back?...Really, what is holding you back? Is it fear? Lack of Systems? Time? Focus? Money? Uncertain of your calling? And countless other possibilities? I would like you to dive in and get deep into these subjects or whatever subjects you want to solicit help for you to move forward! And Sometimes it is best to take a step back from being swamped by new knowledge and just pause and reflect on the here and now and what you can do to get moving forward if you are not getting enough deals done. So, don’t be afraid, attack the issues head on!
