Located at the very southern end of Breckenridge, Colorado, is the mountain neighborhood of Quandary Village. There are over 360 home sites dedicated to this portion of Breck and are also referred to as the NorthStar Village. Home to the only 14,000 foot peak in Summit County, Quandary Mountain, the homes in this community have spectacular mountain views of Red Mountain, Northstar Mountain, Goose Pasture Tarn and overlook the town of Breckenridge.
The majority of the homes here are either 3 or 4 bedrooms, and often have a better value for single family homes in Breckenridge. They are on the bottom portion of Hoosier Pass, approximately 9 miles south of town. If you are looking for an alpine home with lots to do from your back door then Quandary Village is also a place to buy. You have access to some of the popular hiking trails of Summit County such as Quandary Peak, McCullough Gulch, and the Mohawk Lakes. Most the lots in Quandary Village are slightly larger and start at half an acre all the way up to 2 acres. This is a more heavily wooded area with spruce and pine trees and intermingled aspens, which give an array of color this time of year.
If you are looking to for Breckenridge land to build, the Quandary Village has 40 lots currently listed for sale. It is important to have a builder that is familiar with both the Summit county terrain as well as building homes beyond 11,000 feet as most the home sites in this village sit at the higher elevations. The parcels that have already been improved upon with homes tend to have a very mountain alpine feel to them, more of a log cabin style with rock and metal accents.
