I've always been a big believer in writing "Thank You" notes when people have went out of their way to do something nice for me. I love to get a note of thanks from friends and family. It justs shows appreciation and who doesn't like to feel appreciated. In one of my transactions, I represented both the seller and the buyer. I was so happy to have sold this home to one of the families who has moved into White County due to the oil and gas industry in White County Arkansas. At the end of the transaction I sent my clients a thank you letter and gift certificates to a local restaurant in Searcy, Arkansas. It just so happens that I was eating out with my family at another location one Sunday after church and in walked my buyer. We spoke and he met my family and went to be seated. Later the waitress came to our table and took our bill and said that it was taken care of and she pointed out the gentleman who paid. It was my buyer! I went over and thanked him and told him how he had made my day better! He invited me and my family out to his house soon for a visit. He wanted to say thank you to me for being a great agent and helping him and his wife through the whole process. How sweet is that??? He always asks me for more business cards because he has several co-workers who possibly are looking in White County Arkansas. So I'm always carrying my cards around in case I run into previous clients so they can pass them out to their friends and family. I didn't really expect anything in return to my gift but it felt really good to have it recriprocated.

Roxanne, you're right thank you gifts are a great gesture, it is even better when your buyer gets you one. It has only happened once, but was greatly appreciated!
