Kayaking the LaCamas Lake in Camas WA I'll admit, I'm a novice kayaker. We've been on kayak trips in Hawaii and Florida with guides but today we took out our new red Tamarack 120 "sit-on-top" type kayaks. I stressed all this week before this water-bound trip. I was worried that I would fall in the water just getting onto my boat. I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up with my husband that I have nicknamed "Sparky." I was afraid...
Yes, on the way out to the middle of the LaCamas lake...I was paddling and quickly falling behind. I couldn't keep up. It felt like I was "shoveling" the water the whole time. I fretted because a small wind was now coming up against my back and I might not be able to make it back to the launch area. But, lo and behold on the way back...I figured it out. I was paddling the oars way too deep into the water. I finally began to just dip the oars into the top of the water, kinda like the hit of a butterfly wing. It became easy and my kayak began to glide. Right, left, right left.
Kayaking the LaCamas Lake in Camas WA is very nice. Peaceful. Joyful.
Viewing the Camas, WA LaCamas Shores homes FROM the LaCamas Lake is a treat. We kayaked the lake for about two hours today. From a kayak you can see the expansive back yards, the beautiful columns, soaring windows overlooking the lake and commanding rooflines. In my opinion, LaCamas Shores community has to be the most beautiful subdivision in Clark County. Not all of LaCamas Shores homes are on the watefront, but they all have access to all the fun activities that the lake provides! (Currently Active LaCamas Shores Subdivision Homes for Sale )
