Wavecrest Woodie Meet is Tomorrow September 21, 2013
The world’s largest and longest running woodie festival is tomorrow in Encinitas, California.
The 34th Annual Wavecrest Woodie Meet is being held on Saturday September 21, 2013 at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, just north of downtown.
The Wavecrest Woodie Meet is reportedly the largest of its kind in the world, with over 300 of these famed cars (the majority were built by Ford), from all around the country, and thousands of car admirers, in attendance.
There are a number of prize categories, and crowds gather to admire, trade stories, surf, barbecue and just hang out at one of the best beaches in Southern California.
The event officially begins at 8 am and runs until 3 pm, but many hang out beyond then to enjoy the sunset. Surfing and Hawaiian music, plenty of food, especially barbecue, and Wavecrest memorabilia will help make this a fun event for all. And there are always some terrific vintage longboards displayed, too.
There’s even a National Woodie Club for those who are true admirers and collectors.
And the Wavecrest Woodie Meet can also be found on Facebook.
This event is being held on the same weekend as the popular Encinitas Oktoberfest being held on Sunday the 22nd at Mountain View and EL Camino Real, 4 miles from the beach. Why not do both?
