"I've lived in this neighborhood since 1974 and I've never seen anything like this."

"Just wait until tomorrow morning, photographers will be lined up along the lake."

"In our PE classes, we used to run out here.  This is the first time that I've ever seen a lake out here."

"I heard that General Palmer had built a reservoir here.....He was a smart man."

"You didn't miss anything yesterday morning, it was too windy so the lake wasn't smooth."

"The water was blue in the pictures that I saw on the internet.  Either they photo-shopped it or the blue sky was reflecting on it." (The photographers with blue water was out there at just the right time and caught the weather and sky just right.)

Lake at Garden of the Gods

Thursday night, I found the location of the "lake."  Friday morning, I got up extra early to watch/photograph the sun coming up at the lake.  Unfortunately, there was so much fog and cloud cover that I had no chance of catching that seemingly illusive shot of the reflection of the blue sky and fluffy white clouds on the water.

Maybe tomorrow morning.

Sincerely,

Wow Sondra, I wonder is this a NEW lake? REALLY new or just not discovered. I drove all over Garden of Gods and never saw that. I learn something all the time from you. I can see people laugh and say this was a mirage like out in the desert, but THERE it is in your photo. Maybe you need your secret decoder ring and the map provided only by you LOL.

Oh, goodness. Well, that's an example of a silver lining! For the most part, the clouds have delivered nothing but difficulty to my friends lately.

Hi Sondra - We have a bunch of new lakes up here as well - they don't have anywhere near as wonderful a setting, and it's unlikely they'll be around for long.

Hi, Sondra...in spite of the weather no cooperating, you got a great shot. I know this scene well. It looks like more rain is headed our way tomorrow. We haven't had the issues you've had on the front range. We haven't gotten as much rain as you.
