Avoid Costly Entanglements By Nipping Them In The Bud

String TiedThere is a simple principle for our business and personal lives,

Avoid Costly Entanglements By Nipping Them In The Bud.

Whether firing yourself from a client relationship going sour sooner rather than later, discontinuing a bad business or marketing idea, going in a different direction with your work focus, dissociating yourself from overly negative people in your office or a MILLION personal life issues you can get entangled in stop sooner rather than later. It is like wrapping a string around your finger. Once around, easy to get out of, 30 times around, well you are tied up. This does not apply to out of control situations like YOUR health or health of a family member. Those you have to ride out other than taking preventive care.

REMEMBER the string thought as NIPPING or "snipping" it in the bud or early stages. VERY HELPFUL.

I agree especially about getting rid of the negative people in your life. Business or otherwise

Kenny Rogers had a song titled The Gambler, in which he says, "You've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" . That about says it all...

Gary, what a great freedom this brings if we can catch ourselves early enough. I have been on both sides of this string (taking myself away from a customer before it got bad & also waiting too long to make a change I knew was not working for me).

You sure have that right . . . . it's better to pull out a weed out . . . . then have to cut down a tree.

Good luck an success.

Gary,

Good advice.

If the right property takes to much time ot find it's easy to lose your professional detachment. There ius nothing wrong with clients becoming friends after the closing! Listing agents who are or get to close to the sellers often begin to see the house through the seller's eyes.

Gary - very insightful, very wise... Probably, it is still an art of knowing when to stop. What might be pushing us to keep doing it is the fear for the lost time

Great reminder Gary.  It is much easier to handle a situation that is going to cause problems by nipping it in the bud rather than getting tangled up in the mess.

I hope that you have a great week.
