And people wonder why we blog. If this doesn't give non-bloggers a reason to blog then I dont' know what will. No one ever said it would be easy nor an overnight success. All that is required is patience and consistency.
All That Blogging is Beginning to Pay Off!
As the year begins to wind down, I always look to see where the bulk of my business originates.
This year has been a rather interesting year. It appears that all this blogging is beginning to pay off because 50% of my business this year was due to my internet presence. The remainder consists of 28% sphere of influence and 22% from sign calls.
When looking at buyers versus sellers, 81% of my business has been from buyers. That isn't too surprising given that 50% of my business is from the internet.
As we know, 90% of buyers begin their search on the internet and that is where the bulk of these buyers found me. Only 12% of my buyers were from my sphere. While 100% of my listings came from my sphere.
While I would like to increase my listing inventory, my numbers seem to show that sellers aren't using the internet as much as buyers. I believe the bulk of sellers use agents in their sphere or agents who send them direct mail. I don't do much direct mail but started a campaign a couple of months ago. I still haven't seen any business from that but I realize it will take several months before I see any real results.
Since the majority of my marketing is done on-line, it appears it's been worth the many hours I spend in front of the computer creating content. My neighborhood posts and monthly marketing reports are producing results. I'm sure glad I didn't throw in the towel like so many other agents who start blogging and then give up before they see any results. Hyper-local posts with quality content attracts buyers looking on the internet.
