Things To Do In Nanaimo in October
Fall is definitely in the air but there's still plenty of time to get outside and enjoy the weather.
Here are my best tips for some fun things to do in October:
VI Motocross Championships, Round 13
This is a great family event with something for everybody. October is a great time to watch some home-grown talent in all skill ranges from beginner to intermediate to pro. The event takes place over October 5, 6, 12 and 13th.

The Bachelor Event
Head on over to the Firehouse Grill the evening of October 13th and make a bid for your favorite bachelor at the 4th Annual Bachelor Auction. . . just don't let your husband find out!
But hey, even if he does, you can always tell him it's for a good cause. All proceeds go to the BC Childrens Hospital. There will be great drinks, good food, music, dancing and of course, bachelors!

Dragon Boat Paddling
Some people think that Nanaimo just might be the world's best outdoor gym. Phoenix Rising is a women's dragon boat team that rows out of Stone's Marina. Stop by October 29th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m to make some new friends.
Elvis Elite!
For the past 13 years Steve Elliott has been performing and winning various Elvis Contests throughout Canada and October 20th is your chance to see him live and in action in his full-time "Elvis Elite" show.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #10 located at 129 Harewood Road in Nanaimo. Learn more about Steve on his website at: www.ElvisElite.com
