Sun Lakes, Arizona is a thriving adult living district made up of five dynamic golfing communities, each with their own country club and three homeowner associations. Sun Lakes is a master planned development envisioned and designed by a single builder – Robson Communities over a span of more than three decades. The current population is approximately 14,000 people. The Cottonwood and Pale Verde Golf and Country Clubs have now combined their homeowners associations, which means each community can share one another’s golf courses and services. Each with their own 18-hole courses with Palo Verde being an Executive Golf Course though it remains competitive for every golfing skill rank. Ironwood Country Club was the fourth adult community built in Sun Lakes and the Oakwood Country Club being the fifth opening in 1985 with three 9-hole courses for 27 total holes – both provide the amazing Arizona desert golf experience. Sun Lakes Arizona Retirement Lifestyle A deserving retirement begins in Sun Lakes, Arizona where you will have access to numerous clubs and recreational events and pastimes. The clubs meet regularly and the event calendars are updated frequently with forthcoming excursions and continuing education programs. Dozens of groups meet often with topics ranging from photography to computers, books and art. Stage of life social clubs spanning the 40’s 50’s and so on encourage engagement between residents with shared interests.
