Certainly Interesting... But What is It?

  Certainly Interesting…..But, What Is It?

I am not accustomed to taking photos while in the ladies room but this one in a nearby What Is Itrestaurant stumped me.  I have over the course of my several (ok….. many) decades of frequenting public facilities seen many unusual fixtures and decor but this one takes the case.

It reminded me of some of the posts

written by some of our great home inspectors here.   I was left wondering what the owners

were trying to do.  Was this a temporary fix for something?  Perhaps a new trend in recycling water?

I’m not sure but will leave it for you to figure out!

I was going to say a drain for an AC or a furnace or something from up above?

Whatever it is, it is ugly! Could it be tubing that fell down from around the mirror?  What else is in disrepair in this place? Bathrooms definitely tell a story about the kitchen!

That is wild...especially in a restaurant!  Not very appetizing.

That is bizarre and definitely not a selling feature.  Hopefully that can be fixed quickly.

Good morning, Kathy -- as Barbara Todaro commented, a call to the Board of Health sounds in order.   Did you take the photo prior to ordering/eating?

Kathy, I have to go with some sort of HVAC condensate drain---hopefully not a water heater TPRV drain :)

HVAC condensation drain tube makes sense. But come on, this looks like a nice restaurant, they couldn't figure something out that was less conspicuous?!

If it is a restaurant, perhaps it came from the grease trap.  If it was installed by the drunken brother-in-law, then it is OK.  Too funny.

Kathy, perhaps they are recycling the used dishwater from the kithen?

It's probably connected to room where there is no drainage.

Kinda scary that this would be found in the bathroom of a restaurant.  Not sure if I would have stuck around to eat there.  You never know what's going on behind closed doors in the kitchen, but if this hose in the bathroom is any example...

Brenda- I have never seen anything like that.

Conrad- I was thinking the same thing but in a public restroom?

BarbaraT- good point.  I am tempted to go back and see if it’s still there .

Raymond- fairly and I’d be very surprised if it were still there. (let’s hope not)

BARFF- neither do I.

Wayne- there is too much of an “ick’ factor.

Bobbie- I would have had someone there working on it ASAP!

Gita- the unsettling thing is that it didn’t look like it was placed there that day for a temporary repair.

Sheila- i don’t know…. sometimes a bush out in the field is more appealing.

Lenn- ick and double ick.  I never saw anything like that in downtown Leesburg.

Gabe- LOL…. a good practice for you to keep!

Scott- this was a  very bad idea for a DIY project.

John- it does make you wonder, but since I’m not returning I guess I’ll never know.

Noah- thank you!  I aim to make you laugh!

Dorie- I really am tempted to go back to see if it’s been fixed!

Eileen-I may go there this weekend.

Kristin- either way, isn’t it icky.

Joanna- I didn’t stay long enough to inspect it but it was definitely coming down from the ceiling.

Kristen- it isn’t and this is supposed to be a health-food restaurant.

Debbie- I am hoping it was a temporary fix and that it has been repaired.

Michael- fortunately or unfortunately (depending upon how you look at it), I’d already eaten.

Charles- I was hoping you’d chime in!  Maybe that’s what it was.

Suzanne- I agree- whatever it was it shouldn’t have  been there.

Gary- oh great!  The drunken brother-in-law!  I’d hate to see who the cook was.

Jeffrey- I was going to make a comment about flushing but naw…. too gross.

Pat- OMG!!!   That would be too weird, even for Florida!

Patty- I keep thinking of health code violations.

Troy- you know what they say about ignorance is bliss…. well not sure in this case.

That would creep me out a bit.  Interesting.  I would have asked someone, I couldn't have just walked away without knowing.

Kathy, Scott beat me to it.  I'm thinking jury rigged AC drain line, but that's not the way to instill confidence in management :)

I know this is one place I would not be eating.  How about sharing a name to avoid.

Alexandra- trust me, not planning on it!  Maybe they should hire you and Ron.

Sharon- I was deep in conversation with a friend and had to focus on that, I think I told you about it.  (will catch you up)

Debb- I'm toying around with the idea of going back to see if it's been fixed.

BLiz- it isn't is it!  And this was a fairly upscale "healthy" restaurant, as in veggie burgers, etc.

Kevin- email me and I'll tell you!
