Mortgage Prequalification First, Home shopping second?

AKA:  My clients found the perfect home but haven't pre-qualified for a loan.

Cart before the horse

How often have you taken a client on a "tour" of your town, visiting homes day after day and FINALLY they found the perfect home?

Your clients are so excited, as they know this is the right home and you are excited because your efforts to find their dream home is complete.

WHOA! Pull back on the reigns and let the dust settle a moment.

Have we put the cart before the horse?

Did you ask your clients if they had consulted a lender BEFORE their home search began?

Did you receive a pre-qualification letter from the clients before they found their dream home?

If not, both you and your happy wanna-be homeowners may be in for disappointment.

The mortgage lender can resolve potential disasters by getting involved BEFORE the home search begins.

The lender can resolve debt issues and cash issues before home search begin.

Educating the client on handling their finances during the time period of their home purchase is criticial.

Many potential homeowners unknowingly compromise their loan by purchasing a new car or some other big ticket item.

The lender can educate them on these criticial points and many others to prevent disappointment of getting their home loan.
