New AR Editor- Check To Make Sure You Are Not Sending Your Visitors Away!

Home Stager with Room Service Home Staging

I wanted to try writing a post using the new editor.  If you read my post this morning- My post is lost in spaceas well as some of the other posts, then you know that changes have been made.

One thing I want  to point out that may or may not be fixed is that when you put a link in, it does NOT default to a new window as in the past.

There is a drop down window that will allow you to do so.  It's your choice- do you want your visitor to stay or leave?

Kathy,  I hope these major things are fixed in the short term and we don't have to wait for the next update.  We get into the habit of relying on "defaults" when we post.  This one is huge, IMHO.

I believe the default before was to have them leave the site rather than new window. - Debbie

Struggled with the photo part, I had to resize and do a bunch of crazy stuff to get it on.  Finally used our site to post the post, and then copy and paste, and also resize...There is an update from Active Rain on all the issues. A

Kathy-I guess they have a reason for changing things but I don't find all of them necessary and you have to keep learning a new way of doing the same thing. Wonder what the deal is with not getting our login points today.  Thank you for this post. I like the default opening especially on your Sunday post.

Bobbie- I used to be this way but then they made "Open in New" as the default.  Hopefully they'll change it.

Patty- Lots of new things for us to learn.

Kathleen- it is huge!  I've never been fond of these kinds of editors because they actually make more work for you.  But we'll just wait to see how it shakes out.

Debbie- that it was... then they switched the default to make it open in a new window.

Alexandra- It will all work out.... hopefully they're using a lot of bug spray.

Jeffrey- we're all finding little things and in the end it will work.

Kathy, the biggest complaint I have, other than I have to learn another editor... again, is what happened to spell check?? I am not a champion speller and I don't see it on the comment editor or on the new blog editor...  very disappointing. At least now I show my diapproval with an emoticon

Hi Kathy! I didn't notice it at first, but then just before I made my post public, I did notice it. My post today had 4 links, so I wanted to be sure I was opening them in a new window. I liked it when it was defaulting!

Spell check plus copy and paste are the two I miss.  I may not try and read back over every word and if it's misspelled so be it.  I know ther needs to be change but sometimes if it's not broken leave it alone

Kathy.... it's no longer an AR decision, nor a market leader's all about trulia!!! this is just how I see it..... I may be wrong, but it's business and it makes sense....I fully expect more changes....waiting for the financial bomb and/or the pressure to join trulia for SEO... I think AR will be for members only... why buy AR and market leader if it's not to make more money!!

Sharon Lee- at one point the default was as it is today, then they changed it to open in a new window as the default.

Nancy- check out the post I wrote today on Grammarly.

Tony- hope this helps.

Donna-i know.  i don't want to lose someone who's come to my page!

George- most people find it easier to have a link open in a new window, which is what the default used to be.

James- I'm with you on that one.

Conrad- they did but only in a general way.

BarbaraT- you may be on to something.  All I know is that I worked on my weekly post tonightand it took forever to write.

Sharon- same here.  Thanks for the tutorial on inserting a pic.

Janice-I agree.  It can be a pain in the behind.
