Unemployment is at 6% in the Flathead Valley currently. Personal observation: I have noticed a lot of men back working in the valley instead of working the oil fields in N. Dakota. The contruction trades have picked up so that must be making the difference and a welcome sight it is.
Hutton Ranch is seeing a lot of activity north of Kalispell. Cabelas is set to open Nov. 7, Homewood Suites hotel is now open, and a major construction re-do on the busy interesection with W. Reserve and Hwy 93 is complete. That was an incredible project to accomlish in less than 30 days. The north end of the bypass around town is the reason for that project. So, we will have the south end and the north end of the bypass and no middle, bueracracy, need I say more?
Countdown to the last 2 days to purchase a discounted season pass to Whitefish Mountain Resort. Deadline is the last day of September. Some snow was spotted at the top of the mountain earlier this week.
Had our first frost last night. Kind of a relief to put the garden to bed and stop dealing with the buckets of apples from our trees and bowls of tomatoes from the garden.
