Hello. I just wanted to give some thoughts and feeling on how and why my business is taking off the way it has. First off I'm not bragging about my business to you all. I am just very excited about being a new agent (only three years in) and seeing the light of day and watching my business grow by leaps and bounds. I know the real estate industry is slow right now but I have to say that I am like a kid in a candy store. The very thought of and the anticipation of how things will start rolling has me excited like a kid on Christmas Eve. I think to myself, if it slow now, just wait until things start to go BOOM! Spring time is coming and I know in my heart with the amount of listings that I am carrying, things are going to go so fast it will be like spinning in the middle of a tornado.
But, the main reason I think my business is going so well is that I SHOW UP! I mean , I SHOW UP mentally every single day, I get my head in the game and focus. I focus on each task until that task is complete and I move on. I do not dwell on bad things, or aggravating things, I let them go. If something happens that isn't pleaseant. I sit for five minutes, contemplate it and move on.
Also, I feel the very essence of my business existance is simply.... JUST BEING MYSELF. I treat every client, customer, seller, and buyer the EXACT way I want to be treated. People in general just want to be heard, made to feel as if they matter, and told the truth. For instance, I was at a showing appointment this afternoon and the day was so beautiful, I stepped outside as I waited on my client. A sweet little old lady walked by and she stopped, turned her head and said in a sweet timid voice." How much are you asking for the house?" I went to where she stood and I spoke very kindly and said the price. She replied,"I know the woman who used to live here and she took very good care of this house." I said yes ma'am she did. She then told me she would love to see this house and has always wanted to buy the house so I took her inside and showed her the house. She then began to tell me she would like to place her house on the market and she wants me to list it. The moral of my story again is I took the time to listen, spent a little time with her, treated her as if she was my grandma and yes I got another listing out of it and probably a buyer for the house. My client showed up just a while later and I showed her the house as well and she loved it too. I hope I get both offers.
So, I think success in real estate is solely up to the individual and how you treat people and compose and conduct yourself in your business. So, i am going to continue JUST BEING MYSELF and watch it soar.
Good night all!
