The Middle and High School neighborhood, Duxbury

The campus of the Duxbury Middle School and the Duxbury High School is on St. George Street, east of Tremont Street (Route 3A). For the moment, the High School is on one side of the street and the Middle School is on the other side, along with the playing fields and the Percy Walker swimming pool. In 2014, the new, and astonishing, co-located Middle and High School will open up for students on the same campus.
The Duxbury High School is ranked #10 in Massachusetts by U.S. News. You can read more about the co-located schools here.
The Duxbury public schools start with Chandler Elementary School, then the Alden School, Duxbury Middle School and Duxbury High School. Like much of Duxbury, many of the residents are raising their families here, or have raised their children and still live here.
Luckily for those children, and their parents, if they play their cards right, FarFar's ice cream shop is just down the road, set among a small shopping enclave that includes a sub shop and a convenience store, along with a gas station and garage. There's a pilgrimage every school day that the weather's cooperative to the best ice cream anywhere.
In the past few years, homes in this neighborhood have sold for prices between about $395,000 to $1,500,000.
