Ode to My Clothes Line

Ode to My Clothes Line

You sit in my back yard,

Taunting me to hang out clothes,

Hanging them out is not so hard,

The wind will dry them as it blows.

I love the fresh smell,

I love the moments of silence,

Then the voice rings like a bell,

My 4 year old has broke the silence.

But I continue to hang out the laundry,

It is something I truly enjoy,

For a few moments I have a quandary,

How to get the most on the line, On boy!

I know it was said of years ago,

Who had the whitest whites,

Who’s laundry would hang in the sun and glow,

Laundry hanging on the line was a beautiful sight.

Now people use the dryer,

And the clothes line is passé,

Of hanging out clothes they did tire,

But for me my clothes line will stay….

Ok I am not a poet, but I am a Sumter, SC Realtor® who loves using her clothes line and selling houses!  Let me get back to what I do best.  Have a great day everyone!

Those were the days. I remember sitting in the yard and hearing the wind blowing through the laundry. Are we really better off? Have a nice Sunday!

Gary, love hearing the clothes drying in the breeze.  I continue to scrath my head why the people who tell use to reduce, reuse, recycle, don't have clothes lines in their back yards!
