Halloween at Rivermoore Park
It all started just one year ago. My husband, who is very active on the landscape committee in our community of Rivermoore Park and a child at heart at Halloween, decided that we needed to have a halloween display at our front entrance.
As a little background, Halloween has always been one of his favorite holidays. He loves being home and giving out the candy and seeing all the kids in costume. When he was traveling and couldn't be here, I would have to tell him about all the costumes and how our four legged child Casey at the time, reacted to the children. When our friends would invite us to Halloween parties, we would usually pass so he could be at home for all the "fun". Everybody remembers coming to our house.....Hubby has a neon wig that flashes purple lights all over when you turn it on....uuuhhhhhhh that used to flash all over....now it only flashes in one little place since it is so old. I guess I will have to find a new one for this year.
So back to the decorating, we got permission from the Board of the HOA in 2012 and did a pretty simple display close to the entrance of the community. It ended up as just a few scarecrows, pumkins, and hay bales. We were just hoping we didn't get too many complaints and that it stayed up for a few weeks.
BUT WHAT A SURPRISE... People were stopping and taking pictures of their children in front of the display. Neighbors were stopping Dick when he was out in the Meadow Park on the walking trails with our new four legged child Duncan and thanking him for doing this.
This year we have started earlier, have more people involved and are trying to be more creative and take the theme throughout our amazing community.
Come visit us in a couple of weeks and see all of our Halloween display or if you would like to be a part of this great community, check out the active homes for sale in Rivermoore Park.
