Historic Fairlington includes seven villages, each with their own association, pool, tennis courts and recreational area. The community is made up of over 3000 homes originally built in the 1940′s to house wartime executives working in and around Washington, DC during World War II. They were converted to condominiums in the 1970s and the community received historic designation in the 1990s to protect it from development.
Many of the homes are the popular Clarendon model which is a three level townhome. The brick colonial style, hardwood floors, slate roofs and tree lined streets reflect a bygone era. But the community is conveniently located off I-395 with easy access to nearby Shirlington, the Pentagon, National Airport, and Washington, DC.
