The Virtual Traveler - Northern Virginia
Steve and Jan Bachman have done a wonderful job of making me want to explore Northern Virginia. I grew up in California where we don't have a lot of old buildings, and I love the pictures of old buildings that Steve has taken in their posts. They evoke an entirely different style of life than the California beach life I have always lived.
To see what I mean, please see Jan and Steve's post about Waterford, Loudon County, Virginia.
The beauty of the outdoors and the way he captures the light, make me want to experience it with my own eyes, and see Northern Virginia as he sees it through the lens of his camera.
He even manages to create beauty from a converted factory.
I think I have been to Virginia once though I couldn't tell you where other than near DC. Still, it appears that I truly missed out on this side of Virginia on the gorgeous possibilities that are part of the place that Steve and Jan call home.
They work successfully to make Virginia a place I would want to visit with their lovely photos and their videos showing all that it has to offer.
I think perhaps I would most like to visit Northern Virginia during the fall when the leaves have turned so many lovely shades of gold, red and orange. We just don't see very much of that at the beach, and the colors are incredible. It would certainly be a colorful experience, and just think of all of my own photos that I could bring home with me.
It is tough sometimes to get me to consider anything but a beach vacation, but Steve has managed to make me consider something totally different with his perspective and his amazing photos of the place that he calls home.
