I stumbled across Viggle at Thanksgiving of 2012 when I was visiting my family in Denver. We were all sitting in the living room watching football and I knew something had to be going on when I noticed my brother spending more time on his iPhone than I was. That never happens. He doesn't tweet, he hardly ever posts to facebook, he doesn't text hardly... but something had him on his phone.
I did a little investigating and it turned out he was playing something called MyGuy on Viggle.
So Viggle is this really cool app that lets you check in to TV shows and gives you points while you watch. You have to be near the TV so that Viggle can listen to what you are watching (just when you check in, not the whole time it is on). You then rack up points and can buy stuff when you save enough points. I buy Starbucks gift cards pretty much exclusively, but there are lots of others like Lowes, Foot Locker, Groupon, Sephora and a lot more. With the Starbucks cards, since I have a registered Gold card with Starbucks, I trade my points for a $10 Starbucks gift card and then just put the $10 on my registered card. Simple as that, no strings attached. Since I have known about Viggle and used it, I have gotten $60 worth of free Starbucks (no shipping charges, fees of any sort, absolutely free) for opening the Viggle app while I was watching TV.
To make Viggle even better, it has some cool interactive features in it. There is Viggle Live, which is a trivia game where you can answer questions during, and about, most Prime Time network shows. There is also my favorite... MyGuy where you play a single game of fantasy football during almost all college and NFL football games. You select your player and get points when they get yards or score, you can substitute 8 times during each quarter. Both Viggle Live and MyGuy give you extra points in addition to the points you get just for checking in.
I am in no way, shape or form associated with Viggle, I just think it is really cool. I urge you to check it out as well!
