For the month of January 2007 33 homes sold in Petaluma.  These homes took an average of 125 days to sell, starting with an average original list price of $677,117 and selling at an average of $631,345.  One home sold at it's original list price and one home sold for over the original asking price.

As of this writing, 26% of available listings in Petaluma are in escrow, indicating a Buyer's Market.  However, the market appears to be turning.  With multiple offers in San Francisco and very little to choose from in Marin County, buyers will be looking for alternatives in Southern Sonoma County -- where the quality of life is very high but the price of homes is not.
