AARP contacted me and asked if I wanted to be one of the 10 bloggers that they invite to their Lifeat50+ meeting in Atlanta. After making sure it was not a prank, I accepted. We were to attend and blog about the expo.
Yesterday we had the bloggers meeting at a nice restaurant and I got to meet the top boomer travel bloggers and some general boomer bloggers like me. We had a great time meeting each other. We related so much and had so much in common. We all were boomers, blogging about boomers and travel. We all had web sites and loved technology. We came from all over, MA, GA, AZ, UT, CO, and FL. We are kindred spirits and now have a relationship strengthen by meeting in person.
Today we all met on the giant AARP #Lifeat50 convention floor and toured the AARP vendors. We heard their stories and tweeted about their products.
I learned that 1-800flowers has a 20% discount for AARP members. The nice arrangement above had flowers shaped like a cute little dog in the middle. They have many theme arrangements.

Norwegian Cruises has a 5% discount off the best price you can get. 5% off a cruise is a big deal. They have two new cruise ships coming out soon.
UPS Stores even has a 5% discount. I have had a mail box at our UPS store for 15 years and didn't know that.
Avis (and Budget) car rentals have discounts up to 30%.

Expedia. Buy airline tickets, read reviews & reserve a hotel. Find deals on vacations, rental cars & cruises. Easy to use AARP interface is just like their main site except you get a discount.

I learned that AARP is enhancing their travel benefits and discounts. You can plan and acquire all sorts of travel at discount prices from one location. By the way, the AARP membership benefits resource page is a hady reference to all sorts of discounts for AARP members.
All and all a great day at the #Lifeat50 expo today. Now off to bed to get some sleep and heading back for more info in the AM!
