WellStar Health Systems annouces 127 acre Medical Campus on Cedarcrest Rd

Following the announcement made on Thusday, March 6th, WellStar Health Systems has put land under contract for a 127 acre Medical Campus to be located on Cedarcrest Rd & Seven Hills Blvd, the question became, how will this impact the county?  Expectations are that even though the state of Georgia may see a slight decline in real estate sales, the area around the project will likely see an increase from the 2007 sales.  Rumor has it that the Blue Collar salaries will range from $40k to $70, and the Executive salaries will range from $200 to over $700k a year, bringing the record median income even higher for that area.  I know that immediately following the announcement, I received a flood of calls for both my commercial and residential properites located on or off Cedarcrest Rd.   As a real estate professional, I would have to advise my clients, to buy a home now while it is still a buyers market, as the prices will steadily increase to what they should have been a year and half ago.  I am curious to see what the opinions of homeowners on Cedarcrest Rd feel about the project coming to their area.  I would love to hear from you!!

I live in Oak Glen directly behind the 127 Acres. I am so excited for the area. We bought our house in Nov. 2006. Now I know the area property value will go up fast. That area is growing so fast and I feel lucky to have bought exactly where we did. Publix across the street is almost finished and many shopping centers are going up bringing many businesses here. We could not have asked for a better area. The school is located directly in front of our subdivision. I love the future plans for my area. I also work for A Sign Company locally and that means new oppurtunities for us as well. I would also love to hear what others think about all that is happening so quickly.

Hi Stacy!

I appreciate the comments, especially such positive comments.  The details of the announcement have not been published except to say that my sources claim that the closing for the property is expected in July of this year.  I imagine clearing of the land would commence almost immediately.  I also am told that the rezone must be heard in a Public Forum.  I promise to post it as soon as I know the date.  I can also appreciate the future business potential this project can create for both the value of homes, enconomic impacts, but also for your business.  I promote and refer local business networking, so feel free to send me information regarding your sign company.

I would love to hear from others regarding the project, both positive and negative!!
