It feels so surreal thinking that my boy is celebrating his 6th birthday today.... and that we cant count his age all in one hand. Where did the time go?
I remembered when he was just a tiny little baby and taking care of this colic-ky and gassy baby seems endless, my friends would tell me that their kid was 5 years old, 8 years old or even 15. Deep inside, I wonder if I'd ever get there. He didn't sleep through the night until 14 months old. So, the longest stretch of sleep I've ever got during that time was 3 hours.
Just last night, I was showing houses to a young couple who just found out they are having a baby... As we walk around this Pottery Barn looking home, I could feel the love in the home. The home was well-maintained, well-cared for. There were family photos around. A home filled with love for the children.
I turned over to tell my clients - Parenthood will be the hardest thing you'll ever do but it's also the most rewarding!
Such pure joy and love for children just pour out from my heart. That's so much the reason why we wont so hard... And to have the opportunity to experience such love is a privilege.
Today, I'm so grateful for my son. I pray that I'd be the best Mom I could ever be for him. To love and to protect him and to discipline and nurture him.
Happy Birthday, son!
