For those of you just joining me, this is the second post in a blog series I just started on door knocking for real estate. For my first few posts, I'm going to talk about my overall thoughts on door knocking and why I chose it as a prospecting method.
I know that aggressive prospecting tactics like door knocking and cold calling are controversial topics in the world of real estate, so let me start by saying that I want this real estate door knocking “journal” to be a forum for stimulating conversation and debate. Regardless of whether you agree or disagree passionately with my opinions when it comes to door knocking, please feel free to comment on my blog posts and make your opinions heard! Good old fashioned debate is one of the oldest and best methods of learning on the planet, and I think we all could benefit from learning from each other in the real estate world.
Okay, back to the subject of door knocking… Keller Williams has phenomenal training. One training course urges you to add 10 people to your database daily. Now, in my opinion, that’s a pretty lofty goal, but like any great coach, I think that Keller Williams Corporate here is trying to get people to shoot for the stars so they’ll at least hit the moon.
I absolutely love internet marketing, and I’m getting started on it in earnest, but I’m not naïve. I know that more passive methods of prospecting, like blogging and web development, take a long time to fully mature. It could be months before my online marketing efforts yield good results with regard to leads.
