Two of the interesting facts I learned while earning my EcoBroker designation was that (1) a Home Energy Rater can evaluate a home's energy performance and (b) energy efficient Mortgages are available on a conforming loan, and can result in a great LTV amount and a better interest rate.
What I also learned is that, apparently, (as of this writing) the State of California has not given a designation of Energy Rater to any one. I can find LEED's and HERS certified investigators, but they are quite different.
In addition, I have not been able to find any lender in the Santa Barbara area which does EEM.
What has been anyone else's experience in this field? Since reducing our carbon footprint is essential and a huge part of marketing in all areas these days, it should be the same in our real estate transactions.
