Starting Out Can be Scary...

By
Real Estate Agent with The Prairie Path Realty Company, P.C.

I have officially been a licensed Realtor now for roughly a year. I am truly fortunate to be working with the team of people at my company. They are more then happy to lend a helping hand, to teach me the ropes and to support me when it is needed. Even so, at times I can still find things a bit overwhelming. I never knew how much was truly involved in the transition of property from one party to another. The numerous details are absolutely mind boggling!

This journey has proven to be one that keeps me challenged, growing as I continue to learn something new around each and ever corner. Luckily, it is a profession filled with very knowledgeable people that don't mind sharing procedures and ideas that have worked for them so this gal doesn't have to reinvent the wheel so to speak! Couldn't even fathom doing that in a million years.

I would like to thank one such individual, AR blogger, Kelly Sibilsky. Somehow, wading through the hundreds of emails that as a professional we receive every week, I was lucky enough to find and read one that came to me from NSBAR. Currently, my membership is through RANWC. The mail spoke of a blogging seminar and happened to pique my interest. So here I am!

In a world where there are so many Realtors, starting out on a new journey can feel very overwhelming. There are so many things out there to pick and choose, to try and to decide against. I am happy that there are people like Kelly out there sharing their knowledge with the rest of the world, shining a light for us to follow. I look forward to meeting and corresponding with other "beacons" here within the pages of ActiveRain to share smiles, strategies and successes!

Thanks again Kelly!

I would like to thank everyone for being so welcoming. It is genuinely a treat to find like minded people willing to share. I am sure that as I delve into the various avenues of AR, I will find a plethora of wealth and information.

A question I have now, if any of you might know the answer.... Is there a way to change my "name" so that it can include much as yours do... the list of helpful/useful linking items when it comes to searches. If you know, please feel free to leave me a note.

Thanks again!

Linda

Linda - Kelly is a great blogger!  She will be an excellent example.

There is a group called Active Rain Newbies that is full of helpful info.  You can also search "profile page" and a bunch of helpful blogs will come up.  The clue I can give you is that first and last name is where you will put your info.  You can put your entire name in the first name and your area or whatever in the last name space.

Happy learning and welcome to the Rain!

Linda - Welcome to Active Rain.  You're in for a treat because this is a great resource for agents starting out.  You'll find wonderful marketing ideas, a place for support and encouragement, and a forum for incredible technology "training".  I sure wish I would have had a tool like this when I first started in the business.  Thanks goodness it's never to late...  Best wishes for a great 2008!
