Karen Anne is Over The Hill ! Older Chick Hits 100,000 Points !

OK... here it is.  It's my almost obligatory post on both announcing and congratulating myself that with my last post entitled On Becoming Ourselves... Psychology Meets the Laws of Physics I admit to being "Over The Hill."  I have achieved that magical prize, that feat among feats... of reaching 100,000 Active Rain Points.  This fact... and about $4.95... will get me a really fancy cup of coffee at Starbucks.

So... who do I thank ?  I want to thank my mother... for without her I would not be here.  And I want to thank my Dad... for without him I would not be here either Happy Birthday To My Dad ! !

I want to thank my Cat Mollie, Mollie The Guard Cat, who keeps me safe at night by chasing away the goblins. and who keeps me warm at night, by snuggling with me.

I also want to thank, and to send the warmest wishes possible to a woman I met in 1978... during an extremely tragic period in her life... her name was also "Karen Anne". When I First Met Karen Anne... A Tale of Domestic Abuse .  It is because of this tragic young woman that I began always including my middle name of "Anne," instead of being know as "Karen" up until that time.

I'd also like to thank my friends up in Plano, Texas... Have You Heard About "Checkpoint Acrylic ?" whom I occasionally tease with some of the silly things I write about.

My daughter Robin was a big part of my journaling (which is really what much of blogging is for me) when I wrote Please keep my daughter Robin in your thoughts and prayers tonight... during the month of November, 2007.  Many of you so kindly and graciously shared our sadness with us through Robin losing her longtime pet "Lady."

And then, of course, there is my being thankful for all that I have learned from both my friends, and from those I have yet to meet My First Thought Was... Why Am I Getting All This Hate Mail as I continued to learn the in's and out's of blogging, and how to do all those fancy computer tricks. (I still have much to learn.)

I am very thankful for all the wonderful friends I have met here during my Seven Months on Active Rain.  Thank you all so very much.  MWA !

Doug:  I hope I live long enough to recover from all the work it took to get to 100,000 !  Just keep on posting and commenting, and you'll get there.  One post a day, and ten comments a day, and you'll be surprised how quickly you will be there.  Thanks so much for your kind words.

Margaret:  Some days I feel I have a decent grasp on all of this, and other days... like when I read this blog Focus on Crofton by a Maryland Realtor I know, I realize that I have so very much to learn.  Margaret, I am very glad we met, and I value your friendship.  Go Terps !  Take care...

Susie:  First of all... I love the graphic.  I still love the absolutely wonderful graphic you included in your get-well post to me... the little girl with the get well sign.

Just out of curiosity... which posts do you remember the best ?  I would love to hear your take on which of my posts you either found most memorable, or that you liked the most... for one reason or another.  I value your opinion.  Thanks a bunch... take care...

By the way... my dear... Mollie T Cat insists that you retract your remark about the Big Dogs.  She chases them away... Guard Cat that she is.  Blog - Mollie The Guard Cat

I prefer being with the big cats... thank you very much.

Margaret:  Thank you so much.  One hundred comments on my post about hitting 100,000 points on Active Rain.  But, instead of just writing rah rah 100K points, I tried to share a nice story about how I got here.  I really enjoy inviting folks to share in both my posts and share in the comments, too.  Thanks for your kind words... hope things in Baltimore are going well for you... and that the radio show is doing well.  Take care...

Gosh Karen-Anne I'm sorry I'm a bit late to the party but it's never too late to say congratulations on this big One OH OH from one of your friends in "checkpoint acrylic" who does not get her stubs done!

Miss Karen:  Any party hostess who starts her party before you get there... is simply wasting the champagne.  So... now the party can begin.  And hey, I gave up on getting mine done, too.  My natural fingernails will just have to do, although I must admit that I treated myself to the pampering of a 90 minute pedicure this past Friday.  Talk about relaxing... yikes.  Have you ever had a pedicure ?  There is pretty much nothing like it.  Well, actually... there is... but I don't get much of that anymore... LOL.  I know... TMI.  Oh well.  Take care... and thanks so much for your kind wishes.  Have some bubbly, my dear.

That  "Checkpoint Acrylic" post of mine must have made an impression on you.  I hope nobody was offended by that.  Take care...
