Pennsylvania is a Great State for Horse Lovers
Pennsylvania has mountains, farms, open fields, woods, and even level land. It is horse friendly country. There are so many places geared towards horses and agriculture.
The state of Pennsylvania has the Bucks County Horse Park, which is a park where horse people can bring their horses for trail rides, use the rings for horse shows, and much more.
You can also find several major shows in this state. Devon Horse Show, Dressage at Devon and Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg to name a few. The annual Horse Expo is also held in Harrisburg at the Farm Show Complex, which is a major event for horse lovers to see demonstrations and learn from seminars, plus do some shopping.
Interested in learning from the best trainers? Pennsylvania has them, too. Kim Walnes, an eventer in the Olympics years ago, the Davidson's of the eventing world, are just a couple from several well known riders and trainers.
Prefer trail riding? Pennsylvania has numerous trails for horseback riders, as well as for hikers and bikers. Trails run through various terrains and for various levels of riders. Want to ride in the mountains? Pennsylvania has mountains. How about riding through the woods? Yep, you can do that, too. What about out in the wide open? Pennsylvania has wide open fields to ride over, also. You can even bring your own horse to ride the Gettysburg battle grounds, which is the only way you are able to see these grounds. No other way is permitted.
New Bolton Verterinary Center is located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. It is associated with University of Pennsylvania. It is a huge large animal veterinary center, which also offers seminars in addition to classes.
Prefer the excitement of fox hunting or polo? Or how about Thoroughbred horse racing or Standardbred racing (trotters and pacers)? Driving horses? What about 4H and U.S. Pony Clubs for the youth? Pennsylvania has all that, too, and much, much more.
