So many people are quick to complain about agents they either hear about or have participated in one way or another in a transaction. Well it's time to do something about it!!! Email or phone their broker and let them know how their agent is representing their company. You would be surprised how fast an agent who previously wouldn't return a phone call, calls back. And let's take it to the next level. If an agent violates either The Code of Ethics or Local Real Estate Law notify the proper authorities. The only way the level of Professionalism is going to be stepped up is to do something about it.
Hi David,
I am sure you will get some comments on this blog! I found myself reading this piece and although short it gets directly to the point. By the time I was finished I found myself saying "that's what I'm talking about". I couldn't agree more! I can't speak for the rest of the country but we in the Phoenix metro area have some real problems that do need to be dealt with. Brokers on the large scale should emphasize the importance of communication (Realtor 101). Nothing is more aggravating than to attempt to call a Realtor, get voice mail and never get a call back. Maybe some are making too much money or some just have poor work ethics, I don't know. I also understand the 9 -5 mentality (For those that turn their phones off every evening). We are in the people business! They are our source of income! If its important enough for a Realtor, Broker, Client, or tire kicker to call me, I owe it to my profession and more importantly myself to answer the phone or respond to all messages within a reasonable timeframe. Great topic.
